ryan fares
august twenty-ninth
i knew of ryan fares for quite a while--we went to rival youth groups in high school, so i saw him around at concerts, culvers, and other christian gatherings. i never really got to know him until this summer, when we both ended up in the same leadership institute at uwec. he's a journalism (soon to be photography) major at uwec. sweet. these pictures are great, so i'm letting ryan tell you about them himself. read/rock on!
update [12.15.03]:
ryan gave me a new picture of his that i love, it is at the bottom of this page. i guess he took it in early fall, when the chippewa river was very low. apparently there is quite a bit of random junk that shows up, like this bicycle.
what a great picture!
Hey everyone, Ryan here. These are some pics that Ben and I both really liked from my collection. These were all taken last year while in photo class.
The first was taken on a rooftop downtown across from Wells Fargo. we had been shooting some pics, actually the last two on here are from the same. So we were going back, and i was walking down the stairs and snapped this.
the second was taken in fall creek at a park, i had heard or read somewhere about zooming while taking a shot, and i thought it would help capture motion, so i gave it a try.
The third is one of my personal favorites, this is a good friend of mine Leeangel, we were riding to a friend of ours house, and i just kind of looked over at her and took the shot, i think it captured her wonderfully.
for the fourth shot i was trying to catch some action so i had my friend pete run and jump at jeremie while i took the shot at 1/15sec. I think there is some good motion and anticipation in this shot.
the final shot is of my friend jeremie again, Pete told jeremie to put the american flag bandana around his face in hardcore style, and i tried to balance the shot with the graffiti in the background.
Well those are my pics, hopefully i'll get out taking more and maybe Ben will continue his generosity and allow me to get more up here.
Thanx for looking at my photos, and thank you Ben for letting me have this opportunity.
Peace
-Ryan
