trees
january tenth
better than flowers, older than grass, more attractive than some humans, trees make for interesting pictures.
the first two pictures are of the same tree. i wanted to have it in both black and white and color, because ...that's the way i am sometimes? comment--let me know.
the third picture was taken in southern quebec. once you get a ways north of the vermont/canada border, it gets almost completely flat. this field was completely plowed, and the only tree for what seemed like miles was this one. i stopped and took a few pictures of it, this one with my telephoto and one with my 50mm. the pictures turned out completely different; the telephoto one is bright and sunny, but the 50mm emphasizes the cloudy sky much more, resulting in much darker, more depressing picture. i like this one more; it suits my sunny disposition.
the next was taken in ontario. you can't see it, but the background is the sky and lake ontario. i liked how this branch was moving in the breeze, so i took a picture of it.
the next two were just a couple different oaks. the first is at my house in the spring and the second was taken in carson park in eau claire. i like the minimalistic nature of the second one a lot.
the last one is a hydrangea. i'm not sure if it's a true tree or not, but it's pretty and it needs a home somewhere on this site.
