montreal street photography
november first
i had an excellent chance to visit montreal a few weeks ago. my dad is a professor and was presenting at a education conference in montreal, so my mom and i went with. we spent a couple day walking around downtown; since i had good experiences in chicago with street photography, i made sure i had enough film with on this trip.
i shot mostly black and white. i'll just comment on a couple of these pictures, because part of the point is that the people speak for themselves.
in any case, i really like the one with the dad and his little girl. i was walking back to our hotel with my parents, and i wasn't able to get a better shot of them. had i been walking by myself, i would have invested about 20 minutes stalking this lovely pair through downtown montreal. they were so photogenic-- it was unreal!
the lady with the bicycle was a pleasant picture to take. most people don't relish you pointing a camera at them as you walk by, but this lady turned, noticed the camera, and gave a nice, pleasant smile for me. classic.
