moist morning

july seventeenth

i took these five pictures on the superior trail, near the banks of the gooseberry river north of two harbors. it was a rainy morning that let up around 10am, and there were shots like these everywhere. i was being all hardcore about my hiking, so i didn't want to stop and get my camera out for the pictures--that is, until i ran into this stand of ferns.

the ferns were just perfect and begged to be shot. these might be the easiest photos i have taken, it was just pick-a-photo and make sure you don't screw up the exposure. easy.
