gateway arch

september twenty-first

the most memorable vacations i have ever taken are to the far away exotic towns. did i say exotic? far away? i meant the ones with good baseball stadiums. boston, new york, and chicago are the best ones. fenway park (boston) is easily the greatest park i have ever been in. yankee stadium (new york) has all the amazing atmosphere of HATE and wrigley field (chicago) does a good job of being home of the most blindly loyal, drunk fans ever. but baseball vacations are a whole different story...

an "exotic" town with an interesting, yet not great, baseball stadium is saint louis, missouri. busch stadium is one of those round, boring stadiums. however, st. louis is probably the greatest sports town in the country, so that makes it worth visiting. i took a "day" trip with my dad and brother a couple years ago to saint louis to see the cardinals play. on the way home, we drove through the worst storm ever.

on a related note, nashville is the anti-st. louis. i went to a predators (nhl) game there and it seemed the fans were most interested in the "fattest fan" contest on the jumbotron.

on a completely unrelated note, the picture on the right is of the gateway arch. i took the picture when i was in saint louis on the aforementioned baseball trip.
