this was the most productive photo shoot i had all semester, and i didn't even have a chance to use the photos for a project. ironic! i needed the art dept's hand-held flash to take these pictures that ben had wanted me to take, so the thursday of finals week (the night before i had to return the flash) we did a quick, 25 minute shoot in his front room.
it was an interesting shoot. for the multiple flash shots (the second and third) the room was completely black, so i pre focused and hoped that everything went right. it was all very instinctual, because i hadn't planned out the shoot before i arrived.
i think these may be some of the strongest portraits that i have taken; ben was easy to shoot, and he seems to convey a lot of feeling in his expressions.
