here's a set of pictures that needs some explaining. you might think, "digital image" when you see these, but these are untouched film photos, i swear!
if you really want to know what it is, i'll tell you. i was on a ferry from victoria, b.c. to vancouver, b.c.. it was a very grey day out, so much that you couldn't find the horizon because the sea and sky were the same shade of grey. i went out on the top deck of the ferry (they're big, 2 car decks and 2 passenger decks) and noticed the water playing around the sides of the docked ferry. i think the dark areas are the water reflecting the deep blue paint on the side of the ferry, but i never really figured it out. anyhow, i was about 40-60 feet from the water so i used my telephoto to frame the shot.
very interesting, i think.
